Brighton Wedding Photographer-Pangdean Barn Wedding

Wedding photography Brighton

I recently photographed a beautiful wedding at the Pangdean Old Barn near Brighton. What a beautiful wedding venue and a great wedding day, as a Brighton wedding photographer I couldn’t have wished for anything more!

As I photographed a few weddings before in Brighton and always enjoyed it, I knew this one will be no exception. Brighton is such a great location for a wedding. It has its seaside resort town charm and it is just an hour away from London.
Its broad shingle beach always makes for a great backdrop for photos of the bride and groom. Or the wedding itself if it’s held at the beach or the beautiful beach bandstand. I actually photographed a wedding at the Brighton bandstand before and it was simply beautiful.
Brighton Pier is also a nice feature and an icon and symbol of Brighton that is always great for photography on the wedding day.
Its waterfront is also backed by many grand regency-era buildings with windows overlooking the sea.

Pangdean Barn Wedding

The wedding reception venue for the day was the beautiful Pangdean Old Barn, located just outside of Brighton. The wedding ceremony took place at St Peters Church, right in the centre of town. It is a beautiful old church, which was recently modernised to more accommodating for worshippers, which was quite interesting.

The reception for the day-the Pangdean Old Barn was just perfect for a mid-size to a large wedding. It is located just minutes drive from Brighton in the Sussex South Downs National Park. It is situated against the backdrop of rolling hills of the South Down and is a working farm with many different building and locations. All great for wedding photos.
The Pangdean Barn is situated right in the middle of it. It has been recently restored and is a type of a magnificent oak-framed barn. It was definitely perfect for our wedding photography. The intimate feel of the wedding venue created a lovely atmosphere throughout the day. The bride and groom, as well as the bridesmaids and groomsmen and all the wedding guests,  enjoyed the whole wedding from start to finish. And thanks to that we were able to create some beautiful wedding photography.

Here is a selection of Brighton and Pangdean Old Barn photos from the wedding day

Pangdean Old Barn Wedding Photographer

I’ve mentioned a bit about the Pangdean Old Barn wedding venue as well as being a wedding photographer in Brighton.
Now a few words about the wedding day itself. The bright and groom on the day were Tom and Ruth. They are simply a couple of super down to earth people working to help others on a daily basis. The fact that their little baby daughter was with them throughout the wedding day just made the whole experience of photographing their wedding more special and interesting.
One thing worth mentioning is that they had little to no sleep previous night as all three were down with flu.
And yet they managed to look absolutely gorgeous on their wedding in Brighton and the stunning wedding venue the Pangdean Old Barn.

So the day started at the bride and grooms house when the bride to be was getting ready. She was accompanied by her bridesmaids as well as the father and mother of the bride, and other friends and family members. The atmosphere was simply awesome, full of wedding day love, business and chaos!
First I snapped a few images of the bride to be preparing for the day. Then off I was to the ceremony venue-the grand St Peters Church in Brighton. The wedding ceremony was just perfect for wedding photography, great light and a lot of emotional moments, as well as plenty of laughs!
After the ceremony, we took the newlyweds to the Brighton beach to take a few quick photos right by the famous bandstand. The sun was out and the love and connection between the new bride and groom was clearly visible. A true pleasure to photograph!

After that, we all ventured to the wedding reception venue of the day-the Pangdean Old Barn. That’s where the newlyweds were greeted by all their wedding guests and family with champagne and delicious canapes.
The rest of the wedding day went smoothly filled with positive emotions and laughter.
Some of the favourite moments were the groom’s speech which was simply beautiful and emotional. It brought most of the wedding guests to tears, especially the bride.

It is worth mentioning that the staff was professional and attentive and the food throughout the day was simply delicious.
The table wedding decor was based on old classic American action movies, like die hard for example. Another interesting thing was the wedding cake bake-off between the bridesmaids and best men and ushers. There could only be one winner-girls took it hands down!
The wedding party after dinner was just perfect. It started with the first dance as well as the cake cutting. And finished with an amazing performance by the wedding band. At some point, all the wedding guests on the dancefloor went full on, singing and dancing to some classic power ballads using all sorts of inflatable props. But please do not take my word on it, just check it out in the wedding photos!
I finished my Pangdean Old Barn wedding photography late in the evening, tired but with a big smile on my face. That was a truly beautiful and emotional wedding day!

Thank you so much, Tom and Ruth, for letting me and the Blue Lily Weddings document your gorgeous wedding for you, I enjoyed every minute of it!
