Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer

I always enjoy being an Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding photographer. Old Marylebone Town Hall is a London wedding venue. Or, to be more precise, one of the oldest and most established London registry offices.

Are you planning your ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall? If you want to have a piece of mind knowing you are in safe hands, you will look your best in the photos and your wedding day story will be beautifully documented in an unobtrusive way, then please get in touch!

Old Marylebone Wedding Photography

Planning Your Wedding Ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall

I have photographed weddings and civil ceremonies at Old Marylebone Town Hall many times. I know the place, as well as the surrounding area, very well. Which is very useful in being efficient and finding the best angles for your wedding photos. And also finding great photo locations nearby for a couple photo shoot or formal photos with bride and groom and their wedding guests.

Frequently Asked Questions When Planning Your Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding:

How much time in advance should I book my Old Marylebone Town Hall ceremony?

You can book it as early as 1 year in advance with the full balance being payable 4 month before the wedding day. Popular dates like Saturdays in the summer are very busy so the earlier the better.

How early should we and our guests arrive before the ceremony?

30 minutes is a good amount of time to go through the interviews with the registrar for the bride and groom to be. Wedding guests are welcome into the ceremony room 20-25 minutes before the ceremony.

How long will the Old Town Hall wedding ceremony last?

It depends a bit in the size of the wedding as well as whether there are any readings. An average ceremony takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Can we bring our own flowers and decorations?

Yes. As long as things already in the room are not affected. Please let the ushers know beforehand so they can assist.

Can we have our pet dog with us during the wedding ceremony?

Yes. Old Marylebone Town Hall allows dogs in. Just please let them know beforehand.

What about disabled access?

For people on wheelchairs there is a separate entrance on the side and a 48hr notice is required. No worries at all, the ushers will make sure everyone is looked after.

Can we have drinks reception/stay in the room for photos after the ceremony?

Yes, drinks receptions can be arranged at an extra charge. They are allowed in Pimlico, Soho, Marylebone and Paddington Rooms between Sunday and Thursday. There is always enough time after the wedding ceremony to take a few photos in the room. It would be a shame not to, as the rooms as well as the light are beautiful.

Is confetti allowed?

Yes, confetti is allowed on the steps just outside the main door. A perfect place for it! It is not allowed inside of the building.

How much time after the ceremony do we have for the photos outside?

It varies depending on how busy it is but there is always enough time for the confetti shot, as well as a few group and couple photos.

What if it rains?

Then most photos can be done inside using the Old Marylebone Town Hall beautiful interiors as a backdrop. Outside between the columns and the wall is a very nice dry space as well as we can use umbrellas if the rain is not super heavy!

Where can we go for photos after leaving The Old Marylebone Town Hall?

There are so many places to choose from for photos after, all time dependent. Any of the london parks, like a nearby Regent's Park are perfect if you would like a bit of nature and greenery in the backdrop. And simply walking through the streets of London is great for photos, it is such an iconic and beautiful city!

Any additional questions?

If you have any more questions about organising your ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall feel free to ask through their official website here.

Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Venue

The Old Marylebone Town Hall has been fully refurbished and reopened just last year and already it is very busy with weddings and civil ceremonies.

It has 7 beautiful rooms, tastefully prepared and decorated with plush furniture and dark wood walls and ceilings. There are many other gorgeous features like beautiful mantlepieces and a lot of attention to detail in all the decor and ornaments.  All that paired with really gorgeous lighting inside all the rooms creates a perfect backdrop to beautiful wedding photography. The atmosphere of historical grandeur just adds to the overall feel of the Old Marylebone Town Hall.

The Old Marylebone Town Hall boasts 7 rooms in which civil marriage ceremonies are taking place. All of them with its own character and catering for different needs with a different number of wedding guests that they can accommodate.

In 2014 Old Marylebone Old Town Hall closed for major renovation and refurbishment has reopened at the beginning of 2018 for couples wanting to marry in this gorgeous venue.

Destination Wedding Photographer Sweden 1

Destination Wedding Photographer Sweden

Wedding Photographer Gothenburg

I absolutely love photographing destination weddings, and Sweden has always been one of my very favourite countries to visit! One of the reasons must be that my wife is Swedish and we got married in Swedish woods not so long ago.

This wedding just outside of Gothenburg in Sweden was also a very special affair. It was my wife's brother, my dear brother in law Dennis getting married to his beautiful other half Lina. It was my greatest honour and pleasure to be their Gothenburg wedding photographer.

Originally we planned to attend this Swedish wedding with the whole family, but our baby boy Erick was just born a couple of months earlier so I just had to attend the wedding myself, first and foremost as a guest and secondly as a destination wedding photographer Sweden too!

Gunnebo Slott Wedding Photography

The future husband and wife decided to host the wedding reception in a place they both knew, a boat club right by the lake just on the outskirts of Gothenburg. The wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Gunnebo House (Swedish: Gunnebo slott), a mansion located outside Gothenburg, in Mölndal Municipality.

Both places were just perfect for the newlyweds and great backdrops to the wedding photography on the day.

Gothenburg Wedding Photos

Here is a short selection of Gothenburg wedding photos from this beautiful day, enjoy!

Photographing a Swedish Destination Wedding

As a destination wedding photographer Sweden, I approached this Gothenburg wedding in as I would with any other wedding shot anywhere else in the world.

The goal was to photograph the wedding day for the bride and groom and their wedding guests in a relaxed and unobtrusive way. I documented the wedding day as it happened so whoever looks through the photos can feel as if they were there. Another super important thing was to photograph all those little special moments that made the wedding unique to the couple and their close ones, especially focusing on the family and guests who are most important to the bride and groom.

Destination Wedding Photography Gothenburg, Sweden

Gothenburg is such a beautiful city in Sweden to photograph, and also a perfect location for a wedding day celebrations.

Gothenburg, (Swedish Göteborg) is situated off the Göta älv river on Sweden's west coast. It is an important seaport, known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards like the Avenyn, the city's main thoroughfare, lined with many cafes and shops. My favourite attraction when visiting has always been the Liseberg, a popular amusement park with themed rides, performance venues and a landscaped sculpture garden. Now it is a favourite with our kids!

We always love coming back here, whether it's for a short holiday with the family or to photograph a wedding around this beautiful city.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer in Sweden, or anywhere else, please get in touch for a chat about your wedding plans.

knightsbridge wedding photos

The Lanesborough Wedding Photographer

Knightsbridge Wedding Photographer

It has been such a great experience to be The Lanesborough wedding photographer during a recent wedding I photographed in the heart of central London. The Lanesborough is a 5-star hotel and such a stunning wedding venue, it is simply a perfect backdrop to wedding photos. This Grade II listed building is situated in Knightsbridge, right in the heart of busy London by the Hyde Park Corner.

The Lanesborough Wedding Photography

I approached the Lanesborough wedding photography in a typical Blue Lily Weddings style. The goal was to create a set of beautiful wedding photos telling a complete story of the wedding day as it happened, transporting anyone looking through them to those moments and feelings, just as if they were there.

The main focus of this beautiful wedding day were Murielle and Dan, the stunning bride and groom, as well as their close ones and families. It was all about the love, connection and all the little moments in between that made the wedding unique to the couple and their guests.

The Lanesborough Wedding Photos

Here is a short selection of some of the favourite Lanesborough wedding photos from this beautiful central London wedding. Enjoy!

The Lanesborough - A Timeless London Wedding Venue

The venue for this stunning London wedding was the famous The Lanesborough hotel, which is operated by the Oetker Collection. It is designed neoclassical style and it has recently been renovated to the highest standard. The exteriors, as well as the interiors of the Lanesborough, are simply breathtaking. It is situated right opposite the Hyde Park and Apsley House, the London home of the Dukes of Wellington.

The Lanesborough's grand exterior is equally matched by beautiful and detailed interiors. The rooms gorgeously designed and decorated, and just look at those chandeliers!

With the wedding ceremony in the Belgravia room and the wedding breakfast and the party in the Celeste the daily setup was just perfect for wedding photography.

Wedding Day Photography at the Lanesborough

The bride and groom on the day were Murielle and Dan, such a great couple, beautiful and down to earth-what more could you ask for? Together with their families and the rest of the wedding guests they created a truly magnificent day, full of love and laughter.

All together I photographed the celebrations over three days. On day one everyone went on a fun bus tour going around all the famous London landmarks. The highlight of the tour was a group photo along the zebra crossing outside the famous Abbey Road Studios-a must-do for any Beatles fan!

Day two was the main wedding day with the groom getting ready at The Ned and the rest of the wedding day photography happening at the Lanesborough.

Day three was a very relaxed lunch with tea and scones at the roof terrace of the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho with just the closest family and friends.

The wedding day at the Lanesborough had a modern Jewish ceremony and was all about celebrating family values and and simply having a great time. And the evening party with live music and the groom himself performing on the stage was simply through the roof!

Thank you so much Murielle and Dan for having me as your wedding photographer, it has been a true honour and pleasure!

Destination Wedding Photographer South Africa 2

Destination Wedding Photographer South Africa

South Africa Wedding Photography

Oh, how I enjoyed being a destination wedding photographer in Hermanus, just off Cape Town in beautiful South Africa. I love photographing destination weddings, and South Africa is one of the best places in the world to do it. The light at this part of the world is just magical, perfect for skin tones and wedding photography in general.

And don't even get me started on the background and the landscapes. Africa, and especially South Africa is just perfect for anyone who loves truly beautiful wedding photography.

I photographed this wedding alongside an amazing and oh so talented Cape Town wedding photographer Linda Vos. It was honour, pleasure and so much fun. I couldn't recommend Linda highly enough for anyone looking for a local wedding photographer in Cape Town or beyond. Not only does she create breathtaking, storytelling images but is also super fun and relaxed person to be around!

Hermanus Wedding Photographer

Hermanus must be one of the most beautiful towns we have ever visited with the family. And being able to photograph a wedding in this beautiful South African town was just a dream come true.

Hermanus was originally called Hermanuspietersfontein, but shortened in 1902 as the name was too long for the postal service, is a town on the southern coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is famous for Southern Right whale watching during the southern winter to spring seasons. Although the Southern Right whale is the most prolific species in the bay, it is not the only one that visits these shores. The whales can be seen from the cliffs all along the coast from as early as June and usually depart in early-December.

Hermanus beaches include Voëlklip Beach and the broad Grotto Beach, overlooking Walker Bay. The Old Harbour Museum is a site encompassing the old harbour, a fishermen’s village and the Whale House Museum.

Hermanus is just a perfect backdrop for any wedding photographer looking to create a beautiful set of wedding photos in South Africa.

The scenery around Hermanus is just breathtaking with many vineyards, some of which great for organising a wedding at.

It is at one of those places, the Bona Dea Private Estate, that the wedding took place.

Bona Dea Wedding Photos

Here is a selection of photographs from this beautiful Bona Dea wedding, enjoy!

Bona Dea Wedding Photography

The whole wedding day photography at Bona Dea was super relaxed and fun. As I photograph most of my weddings in the UK it was great to see how weddings are being approached in South Africa. I have to admit that there are many similarities and the wedding day photography follows similar patterns in both sides of the world.

We pretty much always start with getting ready photos, than wedding guests gathering, wedding ceremony and drinks reception. That usually follows by the wedding dinner, cutting of the cake and the first dance and disco.

Photographing a wedding at Bona Dea was no exception but what I noticed is different compared to being a wedding photographer in the UK is that the atmosphere in South African weddings is just so relaxed. Bride and groom as well as the wedding guests don't seem to bothered to much about strict timings and everyone focuses on simply enjoying the wedding day. Just a perfect atmosphere to creating beautiful, in the moment wedding photography!

Windsor Wedding Photographer - Cliveden House Wedding 3

Windsor Wedding Photographer - Cliveden House Wedding

Windsor Wedding Photography

I love being a Windsor wedding photographer. Windsor is such a beautiful and photogenic town and definitely one of my favourite places in the UK for wedding photography. It is located in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire. As we use to live in Windsor with the family, I always love to come back and revisit all the familiar places. Many of them are just perfect as backdrops to wedding photos.

When it comes to wedding photography, Windsor has so much to offer. Whether it is the beautiful green spaces and parks located along the Thames River or its gorgeous architecture with cobbled streets and crooked historical buildings. And of course the Windsor Castle, the out of London home to the Queen, which towers over the town and brings huge numbers of tourists pretty much every day of the year.

Wedding Photos Windsor

What I think gives me a great advantage as a Windsor wedding photographer is knowing the town and its surroundings so well. When photographing a wedding or doing a pre wedding couple shoot I always know where to go with my couples to get the best views, light and angles.

Windsor is so great to photograph but also has its challenges. Especially when trying to capture the photos of just the bride and groom with the town always being so busy. Fortunately, I know many more secluded photo spots where I can always take my newly married couples and get the best results in all possible conditions.

Windsor Guild Hall Wedding

But please don't take my word for it. Have a look at the selection of photographs from a recent intimate wedding of Paolo and Warren with the wedding ceremony at the Windsor Guildhall. Just a perfect place to get married, right next to Windsor Castle.

Cliveden House Wedding Photographer

The recent wedding I photographed where the grooms were getting ready at the Cliveden House in Windsor was truly a special one. It was a wedding of two amazing people, Paolo and Warren. The grooms got in touch with me some time ago. I was asked to photograph their Windsor wedding and we met up and started the day at the amazing Windsor wedding venue, the Cliveden House.

The most special thing about this wedding is that it was just the groom and groom and that was it. No wedding party, no wedding guests. It truly couldn't e more intimate and beautiful. The guys could just focus on themselves and their love for each other. And I had the greatest pleasure and honour to document it for them.

Another special thing in this wedding was that because it was just the two grooms, one of the witnesses was appointed by the Windsor Guildhall (where the wedding ceremony took place) and I was the second one, an absolute honour and privilege.

It's also the first time I'm in the official wedding photos as a witness. A credit to one of the lovely register ladies who took the photo with my camera!

I don't think I remember photographing more moving wedding ceremony. When the grooms were reading their vows to each other, the register, the wedding musicians and of course me, we are all in tears! It's moments like this that make being a Windsor wedding photographer so special!

Cliveden House Wedding Venue

Cliveden House is a Grade I stately home, making it a fitting setting for a fairytale wedding. The wedding venue has an opulent history and glamorous guestlist of former visitors. Its luxuriant interiors strike the perfect balance between lavish and homely.

Cliveden House can host weddings big and small. It has many licensed ceremony rooms, like the Great Hall, the French Dining Room, the Boudoir, the Spring Cottage, Lady Astor Suite, Mountbatten Suite or the Churchill Room.

Wedding breakfasts can be held at the Cellar Dining Room, Boudoir, Waldos or the French Dining Room.

After meeting the grooms at the Cliveden House and taking a few photos around its beautiful grounds we jumped into the wedding car and drove towards the Windsor.

Windsor Guildhall Wedding Photography

The wedding ceremony took place at the Windsor Guildhall. The Windsor Guildhall is the town hall of Windsor. It is situated in the High Street, right by the Castle Hill, which leads to the main public entrance to Windsor Castle. It is a Grade I listed building and just great for wedding photography. It has a beautiful facade and equally lovely and grand interior.

Through its strong links with the royal family, the Windsor Guildhall is a celebration of the opulent with a fine collection of royal portraits – many of which were gifted by the sovereign of the day – and two magnificent chandeliers, on loan to us by Her Majesty The Queen.

It is a perfect choice for anyone getting married in Windsor and looking to host a drinks reception, a banqueting experience or a venue for their wedding ceremony.

Documentary Wedding Photography Windsor

After the Windsor Guildhall wedding ceremony, we went for a walk with the newlyweds to take a few photographs around Windsor.

My approach was quite simple, and typical Blue Lily Weddings style. I just let the grooms enjoy the walk and each others company. We just stopped every now and then to take a nice photo when the light or the backdrop was a bit more special. Like the graffiti under the bridge. As I know Winsor so well we could maximise our wedding photography in short time. We combined more architectural wedding photos around town with having more greenery and nature in the backdrop while walking along the Thames River. I have to admit, the guys absolutely rocked their wedding photoshoot!

Thank you so much Paolo and Warren for letting me document your special day. It was such a joy and definitely a one to remember!

London Canal Museum Wedding 4

London Canal Museum Wedding

London Canal Museum Wedding Photographer

Oh, how I enjoyed being a London Canal Museum wedding photographer. London Canal Museum is such an awesome and unusual London wedding venue. It is a true joy for any wedding photographer looking to add something a bit different and more alternative to their wedding photography portfolio.

The location of the London Canal Museum could not be better, right in the heart of London, just a stone's throw from the busy Kings Cross. The wedding venue is of course located by one of London's canals, which is great for any bride and groom who wish to arrive by narrowboat to their wedding, what a great entrance! All this provides for a stunning backdrop to wedding photos at this lovely London wedding venue.

Documentary Wedding Photography at London Canal Museum

I've approached the recent wedding I photographed at the London Canal Museum in a standard Blue Lily Weddings documentary style. The focus was simply on helping the bride and groom to create unforgettable memories from their wedding day. The photojournalistic wedding photography approach means that I simply documented what was happening around me without intrusion. The focus was on creating a complete emotional story from the wedding day told through photographs. These photos when looked through will transport anyone looking through them to that wedding day as if they were there, bring back all the emotions and feelings.

London Canal Museum Wedding Photos

Below is a selection of London Canal Museum wedding photos from a beautiful wedding of Rebecca and Otis I photographed recently. Enjoy!

Alternative London Wedding Venue

London Canal Museum is a great pick for couples looking to get married in London but perhaps in a bit less traditional way.

The museum was opened in 1992. It is housed in a Victorian ice warehouse that was used by Carlo Gatti mainly for refrigeration and ice cream making. The building was constructed between 1862 and 1863 to house ice imported from Norway by ship and canal barge. There are two preserved ice wells under the building, one of which may be viewed from the public area of the museum.

London Canal Museum has a lovely layout with large room downstairs where the wedding guests can immerse themselves in the history of London canals and waterways as well as the introduction to delicious ice-cream to victorian London.

There is a lot of useful information and objects, like foe example a full size canal barge. This space is great for drinkd reception and formal group photos alike. The upstairs boasts another room, which is great for the wedding dinner as well as the wedding disco after the tables are rearranged.

Wedding Day Photography at the London Canal Museum with Ceremony at the Islington Town Hall

The recent London Canal Museum wedding I photographed was such a joy to be a part of. It was simply about two amazing people getting together and celebrating their love with each other and their families and guests. The bride and groom, Rebecca and Otis are just such a great couple, gorgeous, down to earth and very stylish! That definitely made my job easier as their wedding photographer.

We started the wedding photography at Hilton hotel in King's Cross. This is where the bride to be was getting ready surrounded by her parents and bridesmaids. Getting ready is such a nice part of the wedding day when I was able to photograph the bride's interactions with her close ones as well as a few details and the build up before the ceremny.

The wedding ceremony took place in the Council Chamber in the Islington Town Hall, such a great space to get married in. You can check another beautiful wedding ceremony I photographed at the Islington Town Hall here. The vows were so lovely and personal and the wedding guests reactions were priceless.

After te ceremony everyone was transported to the London Canal Museum for the rest of the wedding day celebrations. What was definitely unique about this wedding were the moving and hilarious wedding speeches as well as the absolutely electric atmosphere on the dancefloor during the wedding disco!

And of course the awesome wedding cake made by the talented Kasserina Cakes, a true masterpiece!

Thank you so much Rebecca and Otis for letting me photograph your wedding day, it was a true honour and so much fun!

Swallows Oast Wedding

Swallows Oast Wedding Photographer

If you are looking for a Swallows Oast wedding photographer, you came to the right place. I love photographing weddings at Swallows Oast in Ticehurst. It such a beautiful East Sussex countryside wedding venue. What is great about being East Sussex wedding photographer is that Swallows Oast is local to me so it is always just a short drive away.

I approach Swallows Oast wedding photography in the same way as I would any other wedding that I photograph in East Sussex and the UK. The Blue Lily Weddings approach is 95% documentary wedding photography. This photojournalistic approach is about photographing the wedding day as it happens, finding the best moments, light and composition without directing or staging the photos.

It is also about capturing in the photos what is unique about you and your wedding day. The connection and the emotion. And that is most often in those in-between moments between the bride and groom and their family and friends.

Swallows Oast Wedding Photos

Here is a selection of a few wedding photos from a Swallows Oast wedding I documented last summer in this gorgeous East Sussex wedding venue, enjoy!

Swallow Oast Wedding Day Photography

The Swallows Oast wedding photography on this beautiful East Sussex summers day couldn't be more perfect. The bride and groom on the day - Esther and Sam were just two relaxed and down to earth people. They were after simply having an awesome wedding day in the company of their wedding guests. And this is what i enjoy documenting the most. The fun, love and connection in the wedding day moments.

As the bride and groom did not require any getting ready photos, which is more and more popular with weddings nowadays, we started the wedding day photography with guestd gathereing for the wedding ceremony in beautiful local church in Ticehurst.

I just loved the light and the atmosphere during the vows and exchange of the rings. Together with the gorgeous architecture if the church it created a perfect backdrop to the wedding ceremony wedding photos. After the ceremony there were the bells ringing, the confetti and many, many congratulations. And a few group formal photos with the wedding party and family as well.

After that the newlyweds took their classic wedding car to the Swallows Oast, the wedding venue for the rest of the day. What followed is a few nice photos of the bride and groom in the nearby woods, which are also great for outdoor wedding ceremonies in the summer.

After the drinks reception and a big group photo of all the guests there was a wedding breakfast followed by very moving and equally funny speeches by the father of the bride, the beat man and the gooom himself.

The music for the fist dance was played by a band and it was just perfect. All in all a great day. As a Swallows Oast weddi ng photographer i really couldn't ask for much more.

Swallows Oast Wedding Venue

Swallows Oast is such a lovely wedding venue right on the border of East Sussex and Kent, in the village of Ticehurst.

Originally built in the 1830s, Swallows Oast is situated at Gibbs Reed Farm in Sussex. The character created by the sandstone & wooden structure evokes a medieval atmosphere - ideal for banquets, weddings and special occasions. As part of our rural heritage, Swallows Oast is such a great wedding venue at any time of the year.

The courtyard is a perfect place to receive the wedding guests and outside drinks reception. There is also an option of a marquee to accommodate a larger number of guest or to keep everyone warm in the winter months. Swallows Oast also offers barbecues and hog roasts, either served as your wedding breakfast or as an extra evening meal.

The main hall boasting the beautifully oak-beamed ceiling, the minstrels gallery and pine floor, is just ideal for wedding breakfast and wedding dancing after. It can accommodate up to 130 people, with a cosy, rustic rural atmosphere. Once up the spiral stairway, there is a spacious gallery. This can be used for extra tables, buffet layouts or just an area to overlook the proceedings. It is also great for wedding photography. I could easily photograph the speeches and the dancing without being noticed which is always a great bonus for the documentary type wedding photography.

Swallows Oast has also many options for an outside wedding day celebrations, especially in the summer months. It can host a wedding ceremony in the woods, nearby field or right in the courtyard. It has woodland trails and playground for the little ones. You can even land a helicopter in the nearby field for a wedding entrance no one will forget!

If you like this Swallows Oast wedding photography blog post, and are looking for a wedding photographer for your upcoming wedding, please get in touch for a chat about your day.

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photographer

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography

If you are looking for a Pembroke Lodge wedding photographer, you came to the right place! It must be my favourite venue in greater London to document weddings. I photographed many weddings at Pembroke Lodge over the past few years at different times of the year and with different wedding sizes. Because every couple and every wedding is different, it is always such a pleasure to come back!

Pembroke Lodge, as well as the surrounding Richmond Park, change beautifully with the seasons. They are always perfect backdrops to beautiful wedding photography.

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photos

Whether it is a small to medium size wedding held at the Russell Suite or larger wedding at The Belvedere, it is always lovely! Pembroke Lodge even held their first outdoor ceremony last summer, which I had a great pleasure to photograph.

As any other wedding my approach to photographing weddings at Pembroke Lodge is simple. I let the bride and groom enjoy their day with their loved ones. This gives me the best opportunity to document it in beautiful and unobtrusive way, as it unfolds.

Here is a small selection of Pembroke Lodge photos from recent weddings I photographed at this stunning London wedding venue, enjoy!

pembroke lodge belvedere wedding

Pembroke Lodge Russell Suite Wedding Photos

Russell Suite holds small to medium weddings and is equally as gorgeous for wedding photos as its bigger brother `the Belvedere. It has space for up to 70 wedding guests for wedding ceremonies and can accommodate for up to 100 guests for the evening party. Russell Suite is located on the first floor of the Georgian Wing of the venue. It has gorgeous interiors with period features and sweeping views to the west, great for sunsets! The South Lawn garden directly below Rissel Suite can be used for a drinks reception and throughout the evening.

The Belvedere at Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photos

The Belvedere at Pembroke Lodge is the larger of the two rooms and just perfect for wedding photography!

It provides space for up to 140 guests for the wedding ceremony and up to 200 for the evening party. It is located at the ground floor of the wedding venue and has a lovely outdoor terrace with views over the Thames valley all the way to the horizon!

Pembroke Lodge Outdoor Ceremony Wedding Photography

It has been such an honour and pleasure to be able to photograph the first outdoor wedding ceremony held at the Pembroke Lodge. Right in the Woodland Garden that belongs to the Russell Suite part of the wedding day. Here are a few photos from this memorable day!

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Venue

As you can see from the photos above, Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park is just a great venue for wedding photography. The location of Pembroke Lodge couldn't be better. Especially if you are looking for a wedding venue that is close to central London and is surrounded by beautiful nature. I have to say that the venue being located in the heart of Richmond Park is great. Richmond Park is one of the oldest and most beautiful royal parks in London. It really is more like woodlands and meadows rather than your standard park. And with a large number of deer roaming around it truly is a dream location for wedding photography.

The Pembroke Lodge itself is a one of a kind Grade II listed Georgian Mansion situated at the highest point of the largest Royal Park within London.
Pembroke Lodge has been lovingly restored by The Hearsum Family Limited to provide two fully fitted banqueting suites and award-winning tea rooms. It is the only wedding venue licensed for weddings within a London Royal Park.

It is surrounded by 11 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with spectacular views over the Thames Valley. On a nice day, you can even see all the way to St Paul's Cathedral in the city of London. Where I also photographed a beautiful and fun wedding recently.

Pembroke Lodge has been running weddings for over 50 years and is one of the very few venues offering a truly complete service from a very experienced team.

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Day Photography

Wedding photography is always such a pleasure at Pembroke Lodge. As the venue itself doesn't provide accomodation, the bride and groom usually get ready at on of the nearby hotels in Richmond. Then they arrive to the venue in a wedding car and the rest of the wedding day photography takes place at the Pembroke Lodge itself.

Whether it's at the Belvedere or the Russell Suite, the wedding day photography at Pembroke Lodge usually follows the same rhythm. The wedding ceremony takes place in one of the larger, beautifully lit rooms. This always results in very pleasing looking photos of the bride and groom saying the vows, exchanging the rings and of course having the first kiss! That usually follows by the confetti shot and the drinks reception at the Belvedere's terrace or Russel Suite's Woodland Garden.

During that time we usually go through the group photos which are usually followed by the bride and groom couple shoot. Then it's the wedding breakfast held in the same room as the indoor ceremony. After that there are wedding speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance. That is often followed by one of my most favourite parts of the wedding to photograph - the wedding disco. If we manage to sneak out with the bride and groom for a few sunset portraits, it is always a lovely bonus!

Froyle Park Wedding Photography

"The photos look amazing! You exceeded all of our expectations! Thank you so so much!!"

Froyle Park Wedding Photographer

Jonathan and Rhoda's Froyle Park wedding! It was the one I was looking forward to photographing for a long time.

I met the bride and groom to be some time ago to chat about the wedding and get to know each other. Therefore I knew it was going to be a great day in a good company. Jonathan and Rhoda are just such an amazing couple. Beautiful inside and outside, humble and warm. They made me feel so welcome at their Froyle Park wedding, I could hardly feel I'm at work!

Froyle Park Wedding Photos

This Froyle Park wedding photography was approached by me in the standard Blue Lily Weddings style. I simply let the newlyweds enjoy their wedding day with their family and friends while documenting it on camera without any direction or intrusion. Small exceptions were the formal group photos and the bride and groom photoshoot. All done quickly and efficiently in a fun and relaxed way.

In the end, the bride and groom ended up with a set of photos telling a full story of their wedding day as it unfolded. By looking through them they can be transported to those moments and emotions they felt on the wedding day. Also, they could see all the little wedding moments they have missed!

Here is a short selection of images from this beautiful Froyle Park Wedding, enjoy!

Froyle Park Wedding Venue

Frayle Park is such a beautiful and complete wedding venue. Simply perfect for any wedding photographer. It is situated in Hampshire, just outside of London. This magnificent 16th Century Jacobean manor is surrounded by 80 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside, with beautiful views all the way to the horizon.

Froyle Park can host weddings for up to 300 guests and boast a great selection of beautiful rooms to cater to the needs of any bride and groom to be looking to get married in Hampshire:

The Dome

This is where our bride and groom had their wedding ceremony. It is an elegant outdoor gazebo/dome with stunning countryside views as a backdrop. It can host up to 240 guests.

The Grand Ballroom

With up to 300 guest capacity it hosts most of the wedding breakfasts and wedding party afterwards on most weddings I photographed at Foyle Park.

The Great Hall

Can host drinks receptions for up to 130 wedding guests, or wedding breakfast for up to 80 people. It is also great for wedding ceremonies. Its warm decor, large windows and oak cladding and ornamented fireplace are perfect backdrops for a wedding day photography.

The Drawing Room

Perfect for smaller weddings. It has a capacity of 40 guests for a wedding breakfast and 80 guests for a drinks reception.

Froyle Park has also a few smaller rooms which are perfect for kids play area or stunning and timeless wedding photos. It also has a beautiful oak staircase. All this makes it a truly versatile wedding venue and perfect for the more documentary Blue Lily Weddings style of photography, as well as bride and groom shoot and formal group photos.

Froyle Park Wedding Day Photography

If I was to choose the best Hampshire wedding venue to photograph, Froyle Park would definitely be on top of the list. As I  photographed there before, I knew it is going to be a good one. Fortunately, the weather was mostly on our side and the wedding ceremony took place in a gorgeous outside setting. The couple said their wedding vows surrounded by the bridal party, family and friends as well as rolling countryside hills. There were friends playing instruments and singing creating a beautiful ambience for all the gathered wedding guests.

The wedding ceremony was conducted by a good friend of the couple and was indeed quite original (in a good way!) and very personal. The favourite moment must have been when everyone was asked if they know of any reason why the couple shouldn't get married. At that moment the brother of the bride (who also gave her away) stood up and half pulled his military sword from the sheath with a loud distinct sound. I almost dropped my camera laughing, what a priceless moment!

The rest of the Froyle Park wedding day was equally great. With super high bouquet toss (impressive throw Rhoda!), mouth-watering African wedding food and crazy synchronised dancefloor moves. And of course, the wedding speeches, some 8 of them if I remember correctly. There was one speech by the groom, the best man, the maid of honour, the mother of the bride and a few extra family members. Few of them had some memorable dance entrance walks and tears and laughter lasted for a good hour!

Also, big respect for the wedding video guy Junior. Not only was he a pleasure to work with, but he was able to record for hours supporting about 20lb of equipment just with his biceps. Can't wait to see the whole footage mate!

Thank you, Jonathan and Rhoda. It has been a true pleasure to document your beautiful wedding! x

Dartmouth House Wedding

Dartmouth House Wedding Photographer

Last summer I had an enormous pleasure and honour to be a Dartmouth House wedding photographer. This absolutely beautiful London Mayfair wedding venue is just perfect for anyone looking to tie the knot with style in the capital.

Dartmouth House has so much to offer. The best thing of all is the central London location. Other than that it has a gorgeous exterior and many beautiful rooms for the use of the wedding. And there is, of course, the marble grand staircase and the French Chateau style courtyard. Both so beautiful and just perfect for the wedding photos.

Dartmouth House Wedding Photos

My approach to the Dartmouth House wedding photography on this beautiful London summers day was simple. As with all other weddings photographed by Blue Lily Weddings, the goal was to let the bride and groom enjoy their day, while at the same moment documenting it for them in a beautiful and unobtrusive way. In the end, they ended up with a set of photos telling a full story of their wedding day. When looking at them they can relive it once more, bringing all the beautiful feelings and emotions to surface. As well as going through the moments they would have otherwise missed.

Here is a short selection of photos from this stunning London Dartmouth House wedding, enjoy!

Dartmouth House Wedding Venue

When it comes to London wedding venues Dartmouth House has to be right there on top with a few others. It has simply the best location, right in the heart of Mayfair, of the most beautiful parts of London.

It a Georgian House that now serves the purpose of being the headquarters of the English-Speaking Union. It is located just southwest off Berkley Square, at 37 Charles Street. It was built in the mid 18th century and over the years changed its owners a few times. Each one of them added something new to the now very imposing building. It has recently been upgraded to a Grade II listed building.

Dartmouth House is truly a perfect backdrop for anyone looking to create beautiful wedding photography in the heart of London. The interiors are just stunning. Dartmouth House has a grand marble staircase, a wedding ceremony room with dark oak walls and wedding breakfast room with huge Georgian windows flooding the room with light. All of the rooms are beautifully ornamented with fine details and gorgeous chandeliers. SImply a perfect setting for documentary wedding photography as well as the staged wedding couple and group photos.

Dartmouth House Wedding Day Photography

The Dartmouth House wedding I had the pleasure of photographing last summer was everything a London wedding photographer could ask for. A beautiful and so much in love bride and groom Bilio and Andrew, with a happy bunch ao wedding guest around them.

Getting Ready

The wedding day photography started with getting ready photos of the groom in a nearby hotel. He was in the company of his groomsmen and best man, who helped with the final touches. Of those putting the bow tier on prooved especially tricky.

Then I followed the groom to the bride getting ready location. A touching moment between soon to be a married couple was when the groom handed the bride a handwritten note over a slightly open door. There were definitely a few tears when she read it.

The bride to be was getting ready in the company of her bridesmaids, the maid of honour, as well as the mother and the father of the bride. There were wedding champagne and many laughs and years. Just perfect to compliment the wedding day photography. Everyone gathered agreed Bilio looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress!

Wedding Ceremony at Dartmouth House

From there we walked to the Dartmouth House where the wedding ceremony took place. The wedding ceremony was held in the Churchill Room, It is a striking and opulent space with its antique walnut panelling on the walls and doors.

After the ceremony, we organised the confetti shot just outside on the street. That followed by the drinks reception in the beautiful French Chateau style courtyard. it is also there where we did a few formal group photographs. Then we sneaked out with the bride and groom for a quick couple shoot on the surrounding streets of Mayfair.

Wedding Breakfast at the Long Drawing Room

On the wat back the newlyweds had a shot of traditional Greek liqueur before the grand entrance. The wedding breakfast took places in the Long Drawing Room. A truly spectacular space with Robert Adam's fireplace, full-length sash windows and French-style rococo ornaments.

After the wedding breakfast, there were the speeches by the father of the bride, the groom and the best man team as well as the maid of honour team. So much laughter and a few tears!

Then it was the first dance and cutting of the cake. The evening part of the wedding took place in the Churchill Room. There was the moving performance singing by the sister of the bide accompanied by an acoustic guitar and some amazing traditional Greek dancing right after. So much fun and so great to photograph!

All in all perfect wedding day, full of love and connection. Thank you so much Bilio and Andrew for trusting in me to document it for you!

Trunkwell House Wedding Photography

Being a Trunkwell House wedding photographer is always a great experience. I have now photographed quite a few wedding at the beautiful Berkshire wedding venue. And I have to say it just gets better and better. Trunkwell House is such a perfect wedding venue for anyone looking for a place to get married in Berkshire. It has lovely rooms very stylishly decorated and a beautiful staircase surrounded by mirrors all around. Just perfect as a backdrop to Berkshire wedding photography.

The grounds of Trunkwell House also have a lot to offer. Beautiful Berkshire countryside and rolling hills are great for a sunset couple shoot photography. And the marquee is just perfect for wedding ceremonies as well as wedding breakfasts and the wedding disco until the late hours!

Trunkwell House Wedding Photos

As a Berkshire wedding photographer, I approached the recent wedding at the Trunkwell House in my standard Blue Lily Weddings Approach. The goal was simply to capture two people in love and their connection. At the same time, the focus of wedding photography on the day was to tell a beautiful and complete wedding day story through my photographs. All without staging or intrusion. Simply letting the bride and groom as well as their wedding guests enjoy their day and capturing on camera those fleeting moments of joy and connection.

But don't take my word on it. Here is a short selection of wedding photographs from this beautiful summer Trunkwell House Wedding!

Wedding Day Story at the Trunkwell House

This summer Berkshire wedding at the Trunkwell House was simply a dream to document. A gorgeous bride and groom so much in love. And surrounded by such a lovely group of family and wedding guests. Simply a receipt for a stunning wedding day.

What is so great about photographing a wedding at the Trunkwell House is that everything takes place in one beautiful place. This is so much better for me as a wedding photographer as I don't have to worry about the logistics of travelling from getting ready location to the wedding ceremony location and then to the main wedding venue.

We started the Trunkwell House wedding photography on the day with a few photos of the bride getting ready. She was surrounded by her bridesmaids as well as the father of the bride. So a few wedding dress and makeup being applied photos and there was time for the wedding ceremony.

The ceremony took place in the outside lawn, which was just perfect for it with a lovely gazebo at the back and a beautiful wedding flower arch at the end of the aisle. The weather was on our side, even a touch too hot to my taste!

The wedding vows were beautiful, and after the exchange of the rings and first kiss, there was one of my favourite moments. Confetti while walking down the aisle as a husband and wife!

Wedding Reception at Trunkwell House

After the ceremony, it was time for the drinks reception and a few formal group photos. These are pretty much always a part of the wedding (a must for most mothers and fathers of the bride and groom).

Then we managed to sneak out for a few photos with the newlyweds. As the sun was still high up we went for a walk to the nearby woods to get some shade for better lighting for the pictures.

After that, there was a delicious wedding breakfast followed by the speeches. Starting with the father of the bride, followed by the groom himself and finished off with a hilarious speech by the three best men.

The rest of the Trunkwell House wedding day flowed in a joyful and fun atmosphere. There was the cutting of the cake, the first dance and we even managed to sneak out for a few photographs around the golden hour with the bride and groom.

Thank you so much Kayal and Paul, for letting me document your beautiful day!

'You completely captured the atmosphere and relaxed vibe of the day. We never felt any pressure from you, and you were so good at weaving in and out of the action (at points we forgot you were even there...!). The photos really do tell the story of our wedding and we can't thank you enough for all of your hard work. We will cherish them for the rest of our lives...

...we just wanted to say thank you.

North London Wedding Photographer

I love photographing weddings in North London. I think it must be one of my favourite parts of the UK capital. Whether it means being a wedding photographer in the borough of Camden, Barnet, Hackney, Islington, Enfield, or Waltham Forest.

And being a North London Wedding photographer at a recent wedding in Walthamstow in Waltham Forest was no exception. The bride and groom on the day, Jen and Nigel, as well as their families and wedding guests, created absolutely unforgettable North London wedding day. And it was such a joy to photograph it in my documentary, unobtrusive Blue Lily Weddings style!

Documenting a wedding in North London is always a joy for any photographer who likes working in urban settings. With beautiful architecture as a backdrop, for me as a Blue Lily Weddings North London wedding photographer, documenting this kind of wedding is even more special. This is such a quintessential part of the city. And being a North London wedding photographer is one of the things I enjoy most about my job.

I think especially photographing a wedding in Walthamstow (were the band E17 was born!), in the borough of Waltham Forest. This part of North London is just such a great background for wedding photography. With narrow streets and many traditional quirky pubs and shops where the local community is thriving.

North London Wedding Photos

I approached photographing this beautiful North London wedding in the signature Blue Lily Weddings style.

The goal was to create a set of beautiful and emotional wedding photos telling a full story of the day. The focus was as much on the big, key wedding moments as much as on the smaller in-between ones. They made the wedding unique and personal to the bride and groom. By looking through those North London wedding photos they would be able to feel as if they were there, reliving the moments of the wedding day and coming back to those beautiful emotions and feelings they were going through at the time.

Orford House Wedding Venue

This North London Wedding took place at the awesome Walthamstow wedding venue - the Orford House.

Orford House is a neo-Classical building, built around 1803 on Orford Road in Walthamstow.  It has a fascinating history, documented by the Walthamstow Village Resident Association.

In 1921 the Orford House opened as a Social Club and has played an important role in Walthamstow life ever since. The club is owned by the members and is a non-profit organization.  Members benefit from the events we host all year round, the bowls green and snooker tables, and, of course, the bar.  Their function room makes for a great space for weddings, birthdays and discos.

Orford House Wedding Photography

The wedding photography on the day started at the bride and grooms North London house. Just 5 minutes away from the Walthamstow wedding venue-the Orford House. That's where Jen and her bridesmaids, as well as the mother of the bride, were getting ready. As soon as I entered the house I felt the joyful atmosphere. I knew then it is going to be an awesome wedding day to photograph. And I was so right! This North London wedding was definitely one of my favourites in the whole wedding season.

After seeing the girls I went to see the groom and his groomsmen. Accompanied by the father of the bride they were applying the final touches and having a pint in the local pub, the Queens Arms. Then it was back to the girls to photograph the wedding dress being put on. So many beautiful emotions from the bride, her bridesmaids and mum. I think I shed a little tear myself!

A true bonus was to photograph the girls walking to the Orford House through the streets of Walthamstow with reactions from random local people on the way.

The groom was already waiting at the Orford house together with his best man by his side and all the wedding guests being seated. The wedding ceremony was beautiful. Then it was outside confetti, drinks reception and a few formal family shots. Even those were so much fun to photograph. Check out the girls orange jumpsuits, they absolutely rocked it!

After the wedding breakfast and moving speeches, it was time to photograph the first dance and the awesome dancefloor moves of the bride and groom and their family and friends.

The evening food were the Walthamstow (hot) dogs, absolutely delicious! All in all a perfect wedding day filled with love and laughter and a few (happy) tears. A true delight for a North London wedding photographer.

Thank you so much, Jen and Nigel, for letting me document it for you, you absolutely smashed it guys! xxx
